Theme: Entries are quilts that speak to the theme of Sapphire (blue) quilts. Quilters have long used Sapphire (blue) to symbolize trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth, and heaven. It is often associated with depth and stability. A selection of Sapphire quilts will make a powerful statement as we celebrate our 45th anniversary as the largest quilt show, sale, and quiltmaking academy in the United States. Any techniques—piecing, appliqué, embroidery, photo transfer, whole cloth and/or manipulated fabric, etc.—may be used as long as they are appropriate for the quilt and the theme.

“Fantastic Fibers 2019,” Yesler Art Center

Yeiser Art Center is now accepting entries for the FANTASTIC FIBERS 2019 international juried exhibition. One of Yeiser Art Center’s most engaging and innovative international exhibitions, FANTASTIC FIBERS seeks to showcase a wide range of outstanding contemporary works related to the fiber medium.

“The Ties that Bind,” Gallery One

Ellensburg, WA:    March 1-31, 2019

GALLERY ONE VISUAL ARTS CENTER announces their fifth national juried exhibition titled The Ties that Bind . Entries of artist quilts will be accepted from across the nation and juried by Joey Veltkamp for inclusion in a month-long exhibition, March of 2019 in the main gallery of Gallery One in downtown Ellensburg, WA. Opportunities for lectures, workshops, and/or special events may be offered to select artists to accompany the exhibition. $800 in awards will be distributed by the juror and a slideshow of accepted works posted on our website.
